The Disney Springs expansion that began in 2015 has added so many new shops and dining locations, and there’s nothing I love more than taking a day or two (or five) to explore them all.
One of my favorite new discoveries has been Amorette’s. This patisserie (French bakery) is a unique, upscale pastry shop where the pastries sold are every bit as beautiful as they are delicious.
Each piece is truly a work of art, and I know I had a hard time deciding what to choose. The cast members were delightful, talking to us about each of the flavors and recommending their favorites. Still, the decision is a hard one. The macarons are colorful and tempting; the selection of éclairs looks rich and decadent, and the variety of cakes and tortes each look better than the last.
An especially friendly cast member recommended her favorite, the key lime torte. Topped with white chocolate threads and a mini macaron, the torte was a thing of beauty. While I tend to be a chocolate person, I couldn’t say no to her enthusiastic recommendation…and I’m glad I listened to her advice!
The torte was light and refreshing on a hot day. The flavor was sweet, but not overwhelmingly so, and the delicate texture was delightful. My husband and I, while having originally bought one to split, decided we didn’t want to share, and we each needed our own.
If you’re in Disney Springs, especially on a hot day, and are looking for an air-conditioned spot to cool off and satisfy your sweet tooth, Amorette’s will not disappoint!
