I’m happy to admit that I’m a Disney Foodie. My absolute favorite part of planning my vacation is planning out my meals! I’ve made it my mission to visit every Disney restaurant at least once, and I’m well on my way! So with each new trip, I check off at least one new place.
On my most recent trip, the new restaurant of choice was The Polite Pig at Disney Springs. This new addition to the Entertainment District’s amazing food scene is a quick service barbecue joint. It’s located near the World of Disney store, and you can definitely smell the restaurant before you see it! If the smell of barbecue meat doesn’t make your stomach rumble, I don’t think we can be friends!
Now before I get to how good the food is (and it is!)… Let’s talk about the value! This place is awesome for the dining plan. A meal here is one quick service credit on the Disney Dining Plan! The portions here are huge, plus, with your dining plan you can indulge in an adult beverage with each meal, which includes some amazing cocktails! It is a great use of a Quick Service credit!
The value is even better when you consider how excellent the food is! I tried the USDA Prime Brisket, which came with a generous helping of brisket, a jalapeño cornbread muffin, coleslaw and choice of a side. I went with the baked beans, but this was a tough choice as they have so many amazing southern comfort food options! I mean honestly, it’s really not fair making a person decide between mac and cheese or beets with goat cheese; or between sweet potato tots or grilled corn! (and that just scratches the surface of their amazing side options). I decided to play it safe and went fairly traditional, and even still, I couldn’t have been happier with my meal. The brisket was on point! Rich and flavorful, the meat was tender and not at all dry. Definitely no sauce required! Everything on my plate was so delicious that I ate it all, despite probably being contently full half-way through the meal… But hey, it’s vacation, time to indulge!
The Polite Pig is a great little spot and it will definitely be on my list of “Must do again” restaurants! I highly recommend it for your next vacation!
